As previously mentioned in the news Shadowcat Systems will be attending YAPC::EU 2007 with their very own chef! Nathan Exley who is a lecturer at Lancaster and Morecambe college and a chef with almost 20 years in the catering industry will be attending YAPC::EU and also sharing an apartment with the SC crew. To celebrate this occasion a selection of recipes specially selected by Nathan will be appearing on the SC site in the run up to YAPC::EU 2007.

The Shadowcat boys, along with a chef, will be attending YAPC::EU in Vienna by car. Yep we decided that it would be fun to have a road trip across Europe, going almost from edge-to-edge. If there is anyone in, or near, Koblenz (Germany) who would like to meet up for a beer and a rowdy chat on either Sunday 26th August or Friday 31st August then let us know.

As previously reported Matt gave a talk at OSCON in Portland, Oregon. The talk focussed on Catalyst and was the latest version of his Beautiful and Unique Snowflakes: Cooking with Catalyst presentation that he has been developing for the last 18 months. If you were at the presentation or if you are curious to see a set of the slides they are now available online.

Last Minute News: Matt Trout will be giving a second talk at YAPC::EU. We learned at the last moment that due to schedule changes the organisers have pulled one of Matt;s submitted talks of their reserve list and have added it to the talk schedule for Tuesday morning (28th August).
